  • Coverage: 1 sq metre/litre @ 1 mm thickness ( typical - depends on substrate)

  • Dry to Recoat: Typically overnight - will vary according to temperature & humidity.

  • Tensile strength:* 3000 psi

  • Compressive strength* 7000 psi

  • Shore hardness:* 70 *typical value

  • Surface Preparation

  • Test patch is recommended on a new substrate or if the product has not been used before.

  • All surfaces to be clean, dry, and free of loose material.

  • Thoroughly solvent wipe wooden surfaces to remove any oily deposits and allow to dry.

  • Method of Application

  • For best results it is recommended to store , apply, & cure resin in a room with a temperature of 25 ° C or greater.

  • Coverage for table tops can be estimated using the 111 “rule” – 1 litre of resin covers 1 sq metre at 1mm thickness. We generally recommend 2-3 coats.

  • Add 1 part hardener to 1 parts base (by volume) and thoroughly

  • Hand mix small quantities with a stick taking care to scrape sides & bottom of container then allow to sit for a few minutes for air to come out - watch pot life.

  • Pour on to surface to be coated and gently spread with a brush or similar allowing to “drizzle” over edges.

  • Leave product to self level then use a gas flame or heat gun (if required) waved gently over the surface to release any air bubbles.

  • Allow to cure in a dust free environment

  • The product can be cut and polished although the finish is usually good enough without this.

  • Cutting & Polishing - wet sand with 600 then 1200 grit paper until a uniformly flat surface is achieved. Buff with 3M 5958 cutting compound (or equivalent) until level of gloss required is achieved. A coat of 3M Perfect-It III polish (or equivalent such a Diamond Cutting Compound 2.0) can be applied to give a very high gloss finish.

  • Note: GEMCOAT ES 1:1 is not recommended for deep pours – use GEMCOAT ES 2:1 LV
