Composition and Properties

GEMCOAT EFT is a solvent free, aggregate
filled, low slip, three part epoxy floor topping.

It us suitable for application over
GEMCOAT EFS epoxy sealer by trowel.

It is formulated to give a hard ,
resistant topping which is capable of handling most floor traffic, and
is resistant to most acids & alkalais.

It is ideal for factory floors, chemical
bunds, etc.

It has low temperature cure and if
applied over GEMCOAT EFS will tolerate damp substrates and less than
perfect surface preparation.

Surface Preparation
-
All oil, grease , and other contaminants must be removed
(GEMPREP 2000 is recommended). Loose material, scale, and old paint must
be removed. Apply over GEMCOAT EFS epoxy sealer.

Method of Application
-
GEMCOAT EFT comes in 3 part pack with correct ratio of
ingredients.

Add hardner to base and thoroughly mix - a drill with a
mixing blade is recommended.
-
Then add aggregate slowly and thoroughly mix. GEMCOAT EFT
is applied by trowel.

A light mist of water can be applied to EFT to assist in
trowelling if required.

Cure to a firm surface is normally overnight but will
vary depending on temperature & humidity.
-
7 days should be allowed for full cure. GEMCOAT EFT is
applied over GEMCOAT EFS epoxy floor sealer.
-
For vertical surfaces add fumed silica (consult GemCo) to
GEMCOAT EFS epoxy sealer to thicken then apply GEMCOAT EFT.

Handling Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes
and skin.

Do not ingest.
-
Use with adequate
ventilation.
-
Protective clothing ,eye
protection, and gloves should be worn.

Do not breathe vapour
-
Keep away from children.
