HEAVY DUTY PAINT REMOVER

Composition and Properties
GEMSTRIP 2P is a powerful low toxicity water and solvent based paint remover activated by an organic acid.
It does not contain materials suspected of causing cancer commonly used in powerful paint removers such as methylene chloride and phenol.
It does not contain strong mineral acid or strong caustic.
It will remove most types paints & resins including some 2 pot paints.

Physical properties
Appearance: clear gel
Odour: alcohol
Flammability: flammable pH: 3 (acidic)
Coverage: Depends on paint type and thickness -1 litre will typically remove 4 sq metres of a single coat of paint
Packaging 4 & 20L pails

Method of Application
GEMSTRIP 2P should be applied by brush or roller in a heavy coat then scraped off.
Scrub & water wash with plenty of water to remove all residues.
Do not brush or roll back and forth excessively when applying as this will release solvents needed to dissolve the paint.
Times to remove will vary depending on the type of paint to be removed , paint thickness, temperature and humidity.
Single pot paints will typically be ready for removal after 20 minutes to 1 hour.
Two pot paints may take several hours.
In hot weather a layer of plastic sheet placed over the top will slow down loss of solvent.

Handling Precautions
Keep Out of Reach of Children
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Do not ingest.
Avoid inhalation.
Protective clothing, eye protection, and gloves should be worn.
In confined spaces or poorly ventilated areas use a respiratory mask with an organic vapour cartridge.
GEMSTRIP 2P is flammable so avoid sparks, flame, heat.
