7.100 GEMSTOP EP

SOLVENT FREE EPOXY PUTTY

 

 

  • Composition and Properties

  • GEMSTOP EP is a 2 part ,medium cure, knife or trowel, epoxy putty.

  • It is formulated for stopping plywood and similar applications.

  • It has medium cure and can be sanded after overnight cure and in some cases the same day.

  • It will cure down below 0° Celsius and is tolerant of less than perfect surface preparation.

  • It has been used by hobbyists , crafts , wood turners, boat  builders, flooring contractors etc.

  • Physical properties

  • Appearance: Part A(Base) white paste Part B(Hardener) - coloured paste

  • Odour: low odour

  • Solids: 100%

  • Coating Type: Epoxy

  • Packaging: Two part pack – 2l & 20l

  • Mix ratio: 1:1

  • Pot Life: 1 hrs at 20 degrees Celsius (100g mix)

  • Coverage: 1 sq metre/10 litre @ 1cm DFT(theoretical - depends on substrate)

  • Cure to sand: Typically 4-8 hours - will vary according to temperature & humidity

  • Cure hard:  24 hours ,7 days to full cure

  • Shelf Life:  6 months

  • Surface Preparation

  • Loose material must be removed e.g. sawdust .

  • All oil, grease , and other contaminants must be removed .

  • Method of Application

  • GEMSTOP EP is a 2 part product.

  • It comes in an 2 part pack with the correct ratio of ingredients.

  • Add hardener to base and thoroughly mix.

  • If mixing a large quantity a drill with a mixing blade is recommended.

  • GEMSTOP EP is applied by putty knife or trowel.

  • Dry to sand is normally overnight but will vary depending on temperature & humidity.

  • GEMSTOP EP can be over coated with most adhesives, or coatings providing it is thoroughly sanded.

  • Handling Precautions

  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

  • Do not ingest.

  • Use with adequate ventilation.

  • Protective clothing ,eye protection, and gloves should be worn.

  • Do not breathe vapour..

  • Keep away from children.
