7.110 GEMSTOP FC I

EPOXY PUTTY – MEDIUM FAST CURE

 

 

  • Composition and Properties

  • GEMSTOP FC1 is a 2 part ,medium fast cure, knife or trowel, epoxy putty.

  • It is formulated for stopping plywood and similar applications.

  • It has medium fast cure and can be sanded in 3-4 hours at 20 deg Celsius.

  • It has been used by hobbyists , crafts , wood turners, boat  builders, flooring contractors etc.

  • Physical properties

  • GEMSTOP FC is a solvent free 2 part , medium fast cure, knife or trowel, epoxy putty.

  • It is formulated for stopping and filling wood , metal, concrete, cement fibre sheet, fibreglass and similar substrates.

  • It is usually tack free after 1-2 hours and can be sanded after 3-4 hours.

  • It will cure at low temperatures and is tolerant of damp and less than perfect surfaces.

  • It can be applied to vertical surfaces without slumping Pigments can be mixed into the base portion to colour the putty.

  • Small quantities of tinter can be used also – consult manufacturer.

  • Surface Preparation

  • Loose material must be removed e.g. sawdust .

  • All oil, grease , and other contaminants must be removed .

  • Method of Application

  • Add hardener to base and thoroughly mix with a putty knife on a board or similar .

  • Pigment can be mixed into the base to colour the putty.

  • Small quantities of tinter can be used also – consult manufacturer.

  • GEMSTOP FCI is applied by putty knife or trowel.

  • Dry to sand is normally 3-4 hours but will vary depending on temperature and amount mixed – Note: GEMSTOP FCI will be slightly rubbery in the early stages of cure but can still be sanded.

  • GEMSTOP FCI can be over coated with most adhesives, or coatings providing it is thoroughly sanded.

  • Handling Precautions

  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

  • Do not ingest.

  • Use with adequate ventilation.

  • Protective clothing ,eye protection, and gloves should be worn.

  • Do not breathe vapour..

  • Keep away from children.
