7.111 GEMSTICK FC1

MEDIUM FAST CURE ADHESIVE

 

  • Composition and Properties

  • GEMSTICK FC I is a solvent free 2 part , medium fast cure epoxy adhesive.

  • It is formulated for gluing wood , metal, concrete, fibreglass and similar substrates.

  • It is usually tack free and can be handled after 1- 4 hours depending on temperature.

  • It will cure at low temperatures and is tolerant of damp and less than perfect surfaces.

  • It can be cut with thinners and used as sealer for wood – consult GemCo.

  • It has been used by hobbyists , crafts , wood turners, boat  builders, flooring contractors etc.

  • Physical properties

  • Appearance: Part A(Base) clear gel; Part B(Hardener) - clear gel

  • Odour: low

  • Solids: 100%

  • Coating Type: Epoxy

  • Packaging: Two part pack – 500ml, 2 & 8 litre kits

  • Mix ratio: 1:1

  • Pot Life: 10 - 15 min at 20 degrees Celsius (100 gram mix)

  • Coverage: 5 square metre/litre @ 200 mic DFT(theoretical - depends on substrate)

  • Cure to handle: Typically 1-4 hours - will vary according to temperature & amount mixed

  • Complete cure: Typically 24 hours

  • Surface Preparation

  • All oil, grease , loose material ,and other contaminants must be removed.

  • Method of Application

  • Add 1 part hardener & 1 part base together and thoroughly mix with a square bladed putty knife on a board.

  • GEMSTICK FC I is applied by putty knife or similar.

  • Cure to handle is normally 1-4 hours.

  • Will vary depending on temperature and amount mixed.

  • GEMSTICK FC I can be over coated with most adhesives, or coatings providing it is thoroughly sanded.

  • Handling Precautions

  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

  • Do not ingest.

  • Use with adequate ventilation.

  • Protective clothing ,eye protection, and gloves should be worn.

  • Do not breathe vapor or spray.
