Water based permanent anti-graffiti coating

GEMCOAT AG is a clear, water based coating reinforced with Nano particles. Nano mineral particles are very small, and are invisible in a clear coating. Nano particles improve coating hardness, chemical resistance, adhesion, & durability. GEMCOAT AG has excellent anti graffiti properties allowing repeated graffiti removals. GEMCOAT AG is environmentally & user friendly. GEMCOAT AG was developed and is manufactured in New Zealand. It can be applied over concrete, stone, & many other surfaces – consult GemCo. It can also be applied over most coatings – consult GemCo. Graffiti like spray enamels & felt pen can be removed from GEMCOAT AG GEMSTRIP GA graffiti remover is used to remove graffiti.

Physical properties

• Appearance: Part A - white liquid; Part B Hardener - clear liquid
• Odour: low odour
• Flammability: non flammable
• Mix ratio by volume : 1 L part A : 0.150 L Part B
• Mix ratio by weight : 1.020 kg A + 0.172 kg B
• Pack sizes by volume:1.95L, 7.7L, 15.3L
• Coverage: 5-10 sq m/litre theoretical – will vary in practice
• Pot Life: 4-6 hours @ 25 ° C
• Re-coat time: 5 minutes – 2 hours
• Cure time: Initial cure – 24 hours; Full cure – 7 days @ 25 ° C

Preparation

• Concrete and cement must be cured 28 days minimum, then ground or acid washed to remove any laitance (alkaline salts from curing) Surfaces to be clean, dry, & free of contaminants before applying.

Application

• Add the part B (hardener) into the part A (base) while mixing vigorously (1000 rpm minimum)
• Mix for at least 60 seconds until part B is all incorporated
• GEMCOAT™ AG can be applied by brush, roller, or portable pump spray
• Rolling using a 5 -10mm good quality fleece roller is preferred method.
• Start at top of walls using upward strokes then work down
• Two coats will be required .
• Re-coat when tack free : typically 10 minutes – 1 hour depending on climatic conditions
• Do not apply below 10 ˚ C
• Do not apply in rain
• Do not apply if rain is expected
• Clean up with water

Handling Precautions

• Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
• Do not ingest.
• Use with adequate ventilation.
• Use a respirator with an organic cartridge when applying.
• Protective clothing, eye protection, and gloves must be worn.
• Keep away from children.
